Vital research into testicular malignancy is being done in numerous college or university hospitals, medicinal centre, and related organizations or institutions around the globe. Every year, researchers discover more about what causes the cancer diseases, how to prevent it and how to enhance treatment for it. Certainly, we already have some new results for testicular cancer recently.
1. Effect of High-Intensity interval training on Fatigue
Testicular growth survivors (TCS) are at expanded risk of Cancer related Fatigue (CRF), psychosocial weakness, and poor mental health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Here, we analyze the impacts of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in TCS. Optionally, we investigate cardiorespiratory fitness as a middle person of mediation impacts and select standard attributes as mediators of intercession impacts.
TCS completed 99% of training sessions and related target training intensity has been achieved as 98 percents. ANCOVA disclosed that, compared to UC, HIIT significantly improved post-intervention CRF (p = 0.003), self-esteem (p = 0.029), and multiple HRQoL domains (ps ≤ 0.05). Effects on CRF (p = 0.031) and vitality (p = 0.015) persisted at 3-month follow-up. Cardiorespiratory fitness changes mediated CRF and HRQoL improvements. CRF effects were larger for TCS with an inactive lifestyle, lower fitness, higher testosterone, and clinical fatigue at baseline.
2. Testicular Cancer research
At the presents, scientists also are studying and learning the reason of cells gene change in testicular cancer so that know more about the causes of testicular cancer. The scientists expect to enhance understanding about this disease then will lead to better result for treatment and cure. Meanwhile, they found that cancer cells in testes cause mutation of gene related to resistance to chemotherapy, and also they predict the poor results for that. These discovery will help personalize treatment for testicular cancer. Likewise they could help find new medications to treat testicular malignancy, it may help doctors to confirm and decide which patients will need deeply treatment as well or which patients may be surgery treatment that better understand genetic changes.
The clinic trials have given doctors good ways to treat testicular cancer as well. For instance, studies already have found that predict which patents have better situation without lymph mode surgery or radiation therapy or chemotherapy, with only normal treatment like medicine application. At the same time studies also found that unfavorable prognostic factors to suggest patients with more intense treatment like radiation therapy or chemotherapy and so on.
Now, new drugs and combination of new drugs aim to patients with testicular cancer for related test because these patients do not respond to the previous treatment. And high-dose chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant is being studied for men who have tumors with a poor prognosis.
Other studies show that they are using robotic-assisted surgery to help patients to remove lymph nodes after chemotherapy. Exactly, it seem as a safe option instead of standard “open” surgery. Despite, we need more research to show this and to see whether there are extra benefits.
Side effect is also not news for doctors. A large numbers of work is being done to try a better understand and prevent the toxicity during long-term treatment while only maintaining high rate of cure. Chemo-combinations are refining so that to know whether eliminating drugs, replacing the drugs with others, or lowering doses will reduce side-effect for patients as premise that not reduce the effectiveness of treatment.
