Flange ventilation butterfly valve is a new product that integrates flame arrestor and metallurgical valve into one, and its novel structure is the first of its kind in China. The principle of flange ventilation butterfly valve lies in the metallurgical valve’s respiratory opening with the addition of the core component of the flame arrestor explosion-proof flame arresting corrugated disc. Flange ventilation butterfly valve, on the one hand, can not only maintain the air pressure balance of the storage tank to ensure the destruction of the tank in case of overpressure or vacuum; on the other hand, it can reduce the medium and loss in the tank. Flange ventilated butterfly valve is generally applicable to the storage of Class A oil with internal point lower than 28℃ and Class B oil with flash point lower than 60℃, such as gasoline, stupid, methyl stupid, kerosene, light diesel oil, engine oil, crude oil and other oil products with the same nature and chemical products storage tank use, it works normally in the temperature environment of -35℃-60℃.
Flange ventilation butterfly valve working principle is to use the weight of the positive and negative pressure valve disc to control the positive pressure of exhaust and negative pressure of suction of the storage tank. When the container is under positive pressure, the metallurgical valve opens to exhale gas to vent positive pressure; when the container is under negative pressure, the flame arresting metallurgical valve opens to inhale gas to vent negative pressure. This ensures that the pressure is within a certain range to ensure the safety of the container.

Flange ventilation butterfly valve installation steps.

  1. Metallurgical valves should be installed at the highest point of the tank gas source to reduce material evaporation loss and in order to smoothly provide the most direct and maximum access to the metallurgical valve. Usually for vertical tanks, metallurgical valves should be installed as far as possible in the central roof of the tank within the top plate, for the top of the tank need to set up insulation layer of the tank, can be installed near the ladder platform.  
  2. when two metallurgical valves need to be installed, they should be symmetrically arranged with the center of the tank roof.
  3. If the metallurgical valve is used on the nitrogen sealing tank, the receiver position of the nitrogen supply pipe should be far away from the metallurgical valve interface and inserted into the tank by the top of the tank about 200mm, so that the nitrogen is not discharged directly into the tank to achieve the purpose of nitrogen sealing.

Maintenance of flange ventilation butterfly valve.

In order to ensure the safety of use, the corrugated flame arrestor layer should be removed and cleaned regularly within 3-6 months to ensure that each hole on the flame arrestor layer is clear and prevent blockage to ensure safe and normal use. Regularly check the ventilation gas positive and negative valve disc action is flexible, the guide rod and valve disc contact sealing surface is not damaged, if there is damage should be immediately replaced. In the inspection and maintenance re-installation, should ensure that the combination of the valve surface tightly with the valve disc lift flexible. When the new valve is activated, the anti-shock material between the valve disc should be cleared before installation, otherwise the metallurgical valve will be out of order.
